Well, as a male I am almost afraid to post a comment here, given what Prairie Miller wrote about this film's appeal to male fantasies (as if there's something wrong with fantasizing sexual romps). But as a marxist of sorts I'd hope she'd re-think her view of this movie, which I found to be well-done and seductive, and doesn't that screen come alive when someone who can act like Penelope Cruz blasts her way onto the screen?! The thing I found most annoying was the male narration, a cheap way out for Woody Allen -- instead of SHOWING us the characters of these characters he just has them synopsized via narration; and I agree with Prairie here about the lack of irony. I thought all the actors were excellent with the exception of Scarlett Johannsen, whom Woody insists in film after film of trying to turn her into Mia Farrow without the nuance. But, hey, the film was good enough to weather these relatively minor annoyances.
